What's On - Lytham Heritage Group
Exhibitions
The Group's expertise in mounting exhibitions of a
cultural nature during its first decade has been recognised locally by the Lancashire County Museums' Service, to
whom it is affiliated and by the North West Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (NWMLAC). This
lead to the Windmill receiving Registered Museum Status.
Each year, various exhibitions of interesting items
from our local heritage together with art exhibitions by individuals and local societies have attracted
thousands of visitors to the Lytham Heritage Centre. All of the stewards for these exhibitions are volunteers from
the Group's membership who are pleased to help visitors to Lytham with information about our
town.
Lecture and Activities
Programme
Talks, with visiting speakers, and social events are held on a regular basis in the Assembly
Rooms. These take place during the evening in the summertime and in the afternoon during the winter. An
annual coach outing to a heritage attraction in the North West is
also a feature of the programme.
